Reverend P Kingman Since September 2003 I have been involved in the school governance for Christ Church Academy, Christ Church First and Oulton First Schools. This was initially as a Governor. On the formation of the Multi Academy Trust I have transitioned to being on the Board of Directors and retained Chair of Trust during this time. My own educational journey was through a three-tier system in London, before a gap year and onto study Food Science at The University of Reading. There I met my wife Sue who had arrived to do a PhD in Nutrition. After graduating I worked in product Research and Development technologist based in the Dalgety Research and Development Centre in Cambridge involving lots of time hanging around in factories to try out new recipes and packaging! In 1992 I started training for ordained Anglican Ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. Theology is of course called The Queen of Sciences, and I’ve found a happy partnership between science and faith. I served my title post (curacy) in Wiltshire (and simultaneously was a retained Fire Fighter), then became an associate minster in Harold Wood, Essex. In 2003 we moved as a young family to Stone where I became vicar of Christ Church and Oulton with Moddershall. I am currently serving as the Rural Dean, and I am member of Diocesan Synod with some associated committees. I am now in my second term as the Stone Mayor’s Chaplain. We have two adult daughters who went through the local school system. In the diminishing spare time that I have my interests include road cycling, tennis (less play and more spectating now), enjoying theatre and cinema. I also serve as a humble under gardener. |
